Neighborhood Degree Community Center – Visalia, CA
With their mission to serve For Visalia, Neighborhood Church is partnering with Neighborhood Degree to build a community center—a gathering space designed to foster relationships and host educational workshops and community events, in an effort to end poverty.
This is another step in the church’s desire to serve their community in Visalia, CA.
In 2006, Neighborhood Church partnered with Houston Elementary, a low-income K-6 school, to begin impacting the community.
2015 – Neighborhood Church purchased a grassy lot next to the school and transformed it into Houston Neighborhood Park, creating a safe and welcoming place for families.
2020 – They launched the Neighborhood Degree Project, providing education and helping students in the area pursue a college degree, expanding their future opportunities.
Now, with financing from MB Foundation, Neighborhood Church is embarking on a $3 million building project to construct a community center, positioned beside the park and next to the school. This 4,464-sqare-foot center will include an auditorium, a warming kitchen, offices, restrooms, and a conference room.
The new Community Center will help Neighborhood Degree continue its mission by impacting future generations, strengthening families in their community, expanding educational access, and adding lasting value to Visalia—a reflection of Neighborhood Church’s ministry to share the love and message of Jesus in transformative ways.
