Grace Slavic Baptist Church – Lakewood, WA
Grace Slavic Baptist Church (GSBC) is a Mennonite Brethren church located in Lakewood, Washington. Founded in 1995 with just 60 members, the church has grown to include 375 members, with 500 in attendance during their Sunday morning worship service.
In 2004, MB Foundation partnered with GSBC to purchase their current church property. It was the first time the church owned their own property. In 2018, after many years of ministry, GSBC explored renovating and expanding the property.
After careful evaluation, the leadership concluded that remodeling the facility would not be cost-effective, and they began exploring a complete demolition of their facility and the construction of a brand-new facility.
What started as a vision eight years ago has now become a reality. The church is excited to begin construction soon after many prayers, meetings, fundraising efforts, construction plans, builder meetings, and leadership meetings. Praise God!
The total cost of the project is estimated at $8 million, with financing provided by MB Foundation.
The new facility will include a sanctuary with a mezzanine, a fellowship hall, gymnasium, full-service kitchen, multiple classrooms, a youth and choir room, church offices, cry rooms, and a coffee bar—designed to serve the church’s growing ministry.
While construction begins, the congregation has relocated to another local church.
