Brad & Desirae Rolen
For years, Brad and Desirae Rolen had talked about creating a will but never took the next step. It wasn’t until they experienced the loss of Desirae’s grandfather and Brad’s mother that they realized the importance of planning for the future. Suddenly, not having a plan in place no longer felt like an option—especially for their daughter’s future.
Desirae, who is on staff with USMB, and Brad attend Ridgepoint Church in Wichita, Kansas. Their faith community and ministry involvement have helped to shape their values, but estate planning was still unfamiliar territory. They were uncertain where to begin, but when they discovered MB Foundation’s estate planning program, they decided it was time to take the next step.
Through the process, they not only created a trust but also learned the value of having essential documents in place—not just for themselves, but for their daughter as she approaches adulthood. Taking these steps gave them tremendous peace of mind.
They also explored planned giving, something they hadn’t considered before. With one child, they assumed everything would go to her, but reflecting on the ministries they’ve supported over the years made them realize how meaningful a legacy gift could be. What made the experience even more special was having a fellow believer walk with them through the process, offering prayer and guidance every step of the way.
They worked closely with Guy Burgo, Gift & Estate Design Specialist at MB Foundation. Guy brought not only expertise but also compassion and faith to every meeting.
“We highly recommend Guy Burgo. He is very personable and took time to pray with us at the beginning of each Zoom meeting,” said Brad and Desirae. “We felt very connected to him and supported throughout the process.”
“Estate planning isn’t something most people think about every day, but once it’s done, it brings peace of mind. You know that your wishes are documented, your assets are protected, and your legacy is established.”
