Ken and Marilyn Fast
Ken and Marilyn Fast are living a full life. Their “retired” years are nearly as full as the decades before. They are involved with their family, ministering to others, attending athletic events, and seeking ways to share God’s love and bring Him glory.
In their careers, the Fasts worked and served for a span of 37 years at Pan American Christian Academy (PACA) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ken was a teacher, coach and athletic director; Marilyn was a teacher and cheerleading coach. They saw firsthand the importance of students participating in team sports and the value of using that time to speak into their lives. While at PACA, Ken raised funds to help cover the cost of sport camps and transportation, to assist those with financial needs.
The significance of those experiences remained with the Fasts. When they retired to the States and updated their estate plan with the help of MB Foundation, their heart for this ministry influenced their decision on how to use their resources. They established an endowment to distribute funds now while they are living, to students at PACA so they can attend sports tournaments. The Fast’s legacy gift will continue distributions after they are gone.
“Marilyn and I strongly believe that at least 10% of the value of our estate should go to the Lord’s work. Since most of our ministry was in the athletic department, we feel it is only fitting to help meet this need,” says Ken. “We see our gifts as seed money for God to multiply and meet needs for His glory.”
The Fasts have an estate plan that will continue the ministry they poured their lives into. Their legacy will fuel ministry beyond their lifetimes.
