LeadGen Intern Serves at MB Churches

Frank Wichert is pursuing vocational ministry in the Mennonite Brethren family and is one of many LeadGen scholarship recipients who are serving through internships supported by the Leadership Generation Fund at MB Foundation.

Frank was the first LeadGen scholarship recipient to serve at Greenhouse Community Church in Saratoga Springs, Utah. Since his internships in 2022 and 2023, MB Foundation has supported another four LeadGen interns at Greenhouse Church!

During his time in Utah, Frank participated on the worship team at Greenhouse Church, helped lead Children’s Church, and assisted in planning church events as well as Connect groups and the Gamechangers sports camp.

“My LeadGen scholarships have opened up great opportunities to serve in churches and explore various areas of ministry,” said Frank.

More recently, while serving an internship at his home church, Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church (HMBC), Frank has realized how much growing up in the MB family has shaped his view of ministry.

Through his summer internships, he has had the opportunity to establish lifelong relationships and receive encouragement and affirmation in his ministry calling.

“The Lord is teaching me and growing me,” said Frank. “I’ve learned so much from other ministry leaders through their model of ministry. They’ve really showed me the importance of service.”

Frank’s summer experiences have helped him discern his calling and tugged at his heart for ministry and service through various leadership opportunities.

From counseling senior high campers at SDYC to teaching junior high Sunday School and leading summer hangouts for the youth group, Frank’s internship at HMBC has allowed him to explore his leadership potential and prepared him for his future in ministry.

Frank is excited to see how the Lord will continue to work through him as he pursues his calling in Ministry and Worship Arts at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
