South Mountain Community Church, Utah
SOUTH MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY CHURCH (SMCC) is a multi-site Mennonite Brethren church with five locations throughout Utah: Draper, South Jordan, Lehi, St. George, and a Spanish-speaking International Campus.
Since their first church service 25 years ago, SMCC has grown from a small church plant in 1998 to 4,000 attendees across 5 campuses with 11 services hosted each Sunday.
The relationship with MB Foundation began in 2002 with the church’s first investment. As SMCC expanded, the partnership began to include financing to complete construction projects for various campuses. The first was Draper in 2012 for a project cost of $5.8 million. The facility, for what would become the International Campus, was secured in 2015. St. George completed their $2.6 million construction project in 2015 and the South Jordan facility was completed shortly after in 2016 for $2.3 million. The partnership has significantly impacted the SMCC ministry and the ministry of MB Foundation over the years!
SMCC continues to fulfill their mission to “help as many people as possible take their next step toward becoming fully devoted and fully delighted followers of Jesus Christ.”
In 2023, SMCC welcomed 3,777 visitors who attended one of the SMCC campuses for the first time and 135 people were baptized. Praise God for what He is doing in Utah!
“The future of SMCC will include more devotion as we desire to increase our commitment to Jesus, more delight as we desire to elevate our joy in Jesus and more people as we desire to expand our impact for Jesus.” —Pastor Eric Nelson SMCC
