MB Foundation Co-sponsors a Workshop for Churches Under 200
Unlocking Your Potential was the theme of a one day workshop co-sponsored by MB Foundation and Pacific District held May 18, 2019 at Hope Kingsburg, the newly named MB church in Kingsburg, CA. Participants from eleven churches and three MB ministries spent the day learning from presenter, Kevin Cox, whose theme, “size does not determine impact” is the basis for ministry at Vista Church in Heartland, TX where he is the church planter/pastor. Speaking out of experiences of both failure and success, he guided 47 pastors and lay leaders in exploring ways churches of under 200 in size can impact their communities for Christ. Cox emphasized a Kingdom of God mindset for church planting. Tracing what he calls a “multiplication principle” from Genesis to Acts, Cox challenged church leaders to “exegete” their city in order to affect community transformation and join what God is already doing in establishing his Kingdom. Attendees left encouraged and challenged to engage in the culture of the communities where God has planted them. Here’s what Gary Wall, District Minister of the Pacific District, had to say about the workshop “Kevin did an exceptional job of sharing his story, opening the scriptures and offering practical guidance and challenge. He was gracious in understanding our multi-cultural dynamics and sensitive to the space people needed to feel included.” The event was offered at no charge to attendees due to the sponsorship of MB Foundation.
