Getting at the Root of True Success
One of the most misquoted money verses in the entire Bible is 1 Timothy 6:10. A lot of people think it says money is the root of all evil. But it doesn’t say that. It says, “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
Like many of us who teach about biblical money management, Crown Financial Ministries CEO Chuck Bentley has often found himself correcting people’s understanding of that verse. But as he reflected further on the verse one day, a word he had never paid much attention to stood out – “root.”
His study and reflection on what the apostle Paul was conveying through his use of that word led Chuck to write a powerful book, The Root of Riches. He told me more about what sparked his curiosity in a Skype video interview.
Whether you’re struggling with money or doing well, whether you’re just beginning to explore the spiritual side of money or are further down the path in your faith journey, I know you’ll find The Root of Riches tremendously encouraging and beneficial. I highly recommend it.
